About the workshop
This workshop will explore the potential of immersive technologies in reshaping how we learn, experience, and conduct research in Archaeology. Bringing together perspectives on Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR), the session highlights how these tools are being applied across education, tourism, and archaeological data collection. Participants will gain insights into how VR can enhance teaching and learning, how AR can enrich travelling experience in tourism, and how MR interfaces can support archaeological data collection. In addition to thematic discussions, participants also get a chance to discuss with speakers, fostering critical reflection on both opportunities and challenges. The workshop will end with a demonstration section, allowing attendees to engage directly with immersive technologies and consider their implications for innovation across disciplines. By bridging conceptual discussions with practical exploration, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience and reflect on the future of digital immersion in academic and professional contexts.
